Ajay has been passionate about food and cooking since he was very young and he obtained both a Diploma in Hotel Management and a Certificate in Culinary Practices at MIT in Auckland, so he could turn his passion into a career.
As a Chef de Partie, Ajay has held many positions over the years in restaurants and hotels throughout Auckland and his responsibilities have ranged from managing staff, to menu design and prestation, food and labour costings, stock takes and of course working the front line. Ajay enjoyed training up and coming chefs on the job so much that he thought he would take the opportunity to share his skills with the local community via Adult and Community Education at Rutherford College. His extensive knowledge and experience with many types of cuisines makes Ajay a very versatile and knowledgeable tutor and we are very pleased he decided to join us at Rutherford College.
