How not to be afraid of your overlocker
We all wear knit fabrics, yet many of us are scared to sew with them. In this course, you will learn about sewing knit fabrics on a domestic sewing machine, using ballpoint needles and special stitches, AND MOSTLY how to get the most out of your overlocker, including different seam finishes, hemming techniques and settings.
You will learn how to thread your machine ( yes I know that is scary, but it’s essential), how to troubleshoot, how to start and stop efficiently, how to tackle corners and curves, and much more. This is a real playing session with lots of practical opportunities and tips and tricks
We will explore different knit fabrics and learn how to change the settings on the machine to cater to them.
You will need to bring your own (working) overlocker to play with, and its manual.
Don’t worry if you don’t have one, there are a couple in the class.
