Holidays in NZ

Are you a new Kiwi? Is English your 2nd, 3rd or 4th language?

Do you know NZ has 11 public holidays each year and will get a new one in 2022?

These special days have their own kai (food) and traditions for whanau (family) to enjoy.

What do we do if we ‘pop open the bubbly’?

Where does the Prime Minister serve a BBQ breakfast each February?

How can we make Matariki Friendship Soup?

When are there chocolate rabbits and eggs in all the shops?

Who do Kiwis argue with about the pavlova dessert?

Why do we bake very crunchy biscuits for ANZAC day?

Find out the answers to these questions and learn about NZ celebrations.

The workshop will be in basic English.
