Come along and learn the basic skills, methods, tips and tricks to covering a cake to make it look amazing! In this course, Sue, from Cupboard Love, will cover marbling fondant, different types of flowers- filler flowers, frangipane, small roses, how best to apply and use edible lace and fabrics, as well as, royal icing for brushwork embroidery.
Students are required to bring their own equipment from week 2, and a fee of $10 is payable to the tutor on the first night to cover the cost for all the materials required for the models the tutor makes. A material list will be issued for the second week and the tutor will discuss the items and requirements with you on the first night, including the cakes and icing that you will be required to bring each week.
Course Fee Subsidy
This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.
For Non- Resident students there will be a surcharge of NZD$20.
Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
