Course Description

Delicious traditional Indian dishes are the focus in this three-session course where Vishal will share with you the recipes, flavours, and aromas he grew up with.

What Will You Gain?

  • Basic info about the flavours and spices used in Indian cuisine.
  • Know where to purchase ingredients for a selection of vegetarian and meat dishes
  • Read and follow a range of recipes step-by-step
  • Create a range of classic dishes from Southern and Northern India as cooked at home

Course Materials

The tutor provides all the ingredients. The cost of these ingredients is $45, and it is included in the course fee. 

At all 3 sessions please bring the following items:

  • One or two sharp vegetable knives
  • A spoon and fork
  • 2 or 3 tea towels
  • A few different size containers to take your food home
  • An apron 
  • Pen and paper
  • A question about Indian Cuisine
  • A smile

Course Fee Subsidy

This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.

For Non- Resident students there will be a surcharge of NZD$20.

Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
