WELDING - Intermediate TIG
This class is designed for student's wanting to improve their skills in the Gas Tungsten Arc (TIG) process.
TIG welding is where the real money is for people wanting to get into the welding trade, and it is the most versatile welding for the home handy man as well "It only takes a minute to change a AC/DC Tig welder from steel and stainless steel welding to aluminium settings" Emphasis will be placed on the student's ability to prepare material and perform welding with steel & aluminium. We will cover the most commonly used welding techniques; horizontal butt, inside & outside corners.
Limit 4 students per course.
Course Fee Subsidy
This course is subsided by Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency, or refugee status to our staff for sighting purposes.
For Non- Resident students there will be a surcharge of NZD$20.
Please note: All courses need a minimum number to go ahead. If your course does not have enough enrolments, we regret that we will have to cancel and will let you know either by email or text. Courses are usually cancelled, when necessary, 2-3 working days prior to the scheduled start date.
